    How to build your own laying pattern

    Not every bond is in the pattern library. In the Pattern Designer you describe a pattern the way the planner calculates it: as a repeat tile, a small piece of surface that repeats over and over.

    1. Give the pattern a name under Pattern name so you can find it in the planner later.
    2. Under Stone types, add each format with its width, length and thickness in millimetres.
    3. Under Layout, add every stone with Place stone. Offset X and Offset Y set the position of its corner in the tile, and Orientation turns it by 90°.
    4. Enter under Repeat X and Repeat Y after how many millimetres the pattern repeats. The stones should fill that area without gaps.
    5. Click Save pattern. In the planner the pattern then appears under Custom patterns and works like any other, including the shopping list and the optimizer.

    An example: the pinwheel pattern is four 200 × 100 mm rectangles and one 100 × 100 mm square in a 300 × 300 mm tile. Custom patterns stay in your browser, with no account and no upload.
