The 20 × 10 cm paver (200 × 100 mm, about 8 × 4 in) is the most common concrete paver size. Its 2 to 1 ratio fits almost every laying pattern: running bond, stack bond, herringbone, basket weave, one-third offset and diagonal.
Pavers per square metre
Without joints you need 50 pavers per m², whatever the pattern. Joints lower that slightly. With a 3 mm joint each paver takes up 203 × 103 mm, which works out to about 47.8 pavers per m². Waste then pushes the order back up, most of all with diagonal patterns.
Which pattern for 20 × 10 pavers
Running bond is quick to lay and suits paths and patios. Herringbone has the strongest interlock and is the usual choice for driveways. Basket weave looks decorative on seating areas. The planner opens with running bond. Switch the pattern in step 3 and compare the cut counts in the shopping list before you decide.

Do I need half stones?
In running bond, every second row ends in a half paver on a straight edge. Herringbone uses 10 × 10 cm half stones along the edges, and the shopping list shows them as purchasable sub-stones.
Can I change the size later?
Yes. Pick Custom dimensions in step 2 and enter any rectangular size, such as 24 × 12 cm. The pattern scales with it.
