Quantity calculator

Paver quantity calculator

How many pavers do you really need? Draw your surface, pick paver and pattern, and the planner counts every stone for that outline. It also calculates bedding and sub-base, so you can order everything at once.

What the planner counts

  • Pavers for your exact outline, not a rough square-metre estimate.
  • Which pavers stay whole and which need cutting at the edges.
  • Crushed stone and grit for the base, on the same list.

How to start

  • Enter the dimensions or draw the outline as a polygon.
  • Pick paver, pattern and load class.
  • The shopping list shows pavers, bedding and crushed stone together.

FAQ

Why not multiply square metres by pavers per m²?

Because that leaves out the cuts at the edges. The more irregular the outline, the bigger the gap. The planner lays the pattern stone by stone.

Does the planner add waste?

Yes. Set a percentage allowance, or use the optimizer to reduce cuts by changing the joint width or the area slightly.

Key figures for this scenario

The figures come from the same formulas the planner uses. They leave out joints and waste; the planner's shopping list adds both for your surface shape.

Paver format
Standard rectangular paver (200x100 mm)
Laying pattern
Running bond
Pavers per m²
50
Load class
Pedestrian
Base layer
20 cm crushed stone 0/32 mm
Bedding layer
4 cm grit 2/5 mm
Excavation depth
30 cm

Example: a 20 m² surface

For 20 m² you need about 1,000 pavers, 4.8 m³ of crushed stone (about 8.16 t, including a 20% compaction reserve) and 0.8 m³ of grit (about 1.2 t). Dig about 30 cm deep: 20 cm of base, 4 cm of bedding and 6 cm of paver.
